Dominia+ (v5.0.0), IXO’s latest blockchain upgrade, introduces enhanced identity management, refined payment systems, and stronger governance security—delivering precise, trusted, decentralised coordination. This upgrade aligns with our long-term vision to build a modular, decentralised ecosystem that enables trust and transparency across real-world domains.

IXO 2025 Roadmap Update
As the world is experiencing accelerated technological and market developments, 2025 marks a step-change in the evolution of IXO into a full-stack Spatial Web platform—where Web3 and AI are converging to deliver intelligent location-based, impact-generating solutions at scale.

Since launching the first testnet for the IXO Blockchain in 2018, the Impact Hub Network has reached a new milestone with Dominia+ (v5.0.0). This upgrade strengthens the IXO Chain’s core infrastructure, enabling new capabilities for decentralised coordination and data verification through token-based service provisioning—while staying true to our commitment to trusted, outcome-based systems.

Let’s dive into what’s new with Dominia+.

Smarter identity: DID-based smart accounts

Dominia+ upgrades authorisation logic to support account-based control of Decentralised Identifiers (DIDs). Users can delegate control and execute transactions through programmable smart accounts—enhancing composability, automation, and security.

For developers building dApps on the IXO Chain, this unlocks flexible identity frameworks beyond static public-key wallets. Passkeys can now be used for DID-related authentication, significantly simplifying the user experience.

CW20 payment splits: Precision for oracle services

Oracle agents now benefit from a refined payment model.

Dominia+ introduces support for CW20 token splits on approved oracle payments, including when intents are used. Payments are securely held in escrow, ensuring oracle providers receive guaranteed and timely payouts. This enables more transparent, automated payment flows—improving scalability across domains.

Claim delegation: Authorise with constraints

A new message type —MsgCreateClaimAuthorization— has been added, along with a new authorisation format. This allows claim collection administrators to delegate the authority to create claims, but with specific constraints.

This means more secure delegation without handing over full control.

Think: a skills credentialing organisation granting permission to a trainer to issue credentials—but only for certain programmes, under defined conditions.

Domain transfers: Trust preserved

Previously, transferring a domain (such as an identity or project account) would clear all associated verification methods—potentially disrupting trust chains.

Dominia+ changes this. Verification methods are now preserved across transfers, ensuring continuity and reducing administrative overhead.

Critical updates under the hood

  • A critical security patch for IBC-go v8.7.0, keeping the chain secure and interoperable.
  • Updated dependencies across the codebase to ensure performance and stability.

While users may not directly see these changes, they significantly enhance the network’s security, stability, and interoperability.

Why it matters

Dominia+ strengthens decentralised coordination systems—improving operational efficiency, enhancing data security, and expanding flexibility for developers and domain administrators.

“With Dominia+, we've made the IXO Spatial Web stack more adaptable, scalable, and verifiable—ensuring transparency where it matters, and end-to-end encrypted privacy where it counts.” - Michael Pretorius, IXO CTO

Each new capability supports our mission to enable secure, modular systems where value flows transparently and outcomes—not intentions—trigger value.

How Dominia+ fits the IXO 2025 Roadmap

As part of the IXO 2025 Roadmap, our goal is to build a decentralised, modular ecosystem capable of coordinating real-world domains. Dominia+ is foundational to this evolution, preparing IXO’s platform for future scalability and real-world applications.

Roadmap
The evolution and roadmap of the IXO Spatial Web

Here’s how Dominia+ accelerates progress in key areas:

  • Modular Infrastructure: New smart account logic and authorisation structures form the basis for domain-specific upgrades, enabling IXO to scale across diverse use cases.
  • Trust Systems: Preserving verification methods and enabling secure claim delegation enhances IXO’s decentralised trust model, streamlining multi-stakeholder coordination.
  • Outcome-based Finance: Enhanced payment precision and automated flows bring IXO closer to a system where capital flows are directly tied to verified outcomes—whether in clean energy, healthcare, or education.

These upgrades support the emergence of AI-driven agents, verifiable data systems, and interoperable service markets.

Dominia+ and what's next

Dominia+ is integral to the IXO 2025 vision. Each update enhances IXO’s core capabilities, preparing the network for scalable, decentralised coordination in real-world sectors like climate, healthcare, education, and finance.
